Were you one of those who took out an SSS loan when your area was hit by a calamity?

Are you facing difficulties in paying off your loan?

Perhaps you should look into SSS's Loan Restructuring Program and find out if you qualify to avail of this program to clean up your overdue loan principal and interest in full or by installment under a restructured term depending on your capacity.

In both schemes you can take advantage of condonation of loan penalties.

Who Can Avail
    Calamity loan borrowers in the 1990s following the Mt. Pinatubo eruption and 1990 earthquake
    Members with past due short term loans in declared calamity areas after the onslaught of tropical storms and typhoons:
    Ondoy in 2009; Sendong in 2011; Pedring, Quiel and Pablo in 2012; Labuyo, Maring, Santi, Yolanda and Agaton in 2013; Glenda, Mario, Ruby and Seniang in 2014; Lando and Nona in 2015.
    Also included are the Zamboanga armed conflict and the Bohol-Cebu earthquake which both occurred in 2013.

  • The loan must be past due for at least six months
  • The member must be living or working in a declared calamity area as of the date of the disaster attested through an Affidavit of Residency.
    • Members granted any final benefit claim prior to the LRP availment period and those who committed fraud against the SSS are disqualified from the program.

    What Loans Are Covered in the LRP
      Short-term SSS loan programs including the Salary Loan, Salary Loan Early Renewal Program (SLERP), Emergency Loan, Calamity Loan, Voc Tech Loan, Y2K Loan, Investments Incentive Loan, Study Now Pay Later Plan, and the previously-offered Educational Loan, which is different from the ongoing Educational Assistance (Educ-Assist) Loan Program

    Availment Period
      April 28, 2016 to April 27, 2017

    Other Important Information
      Borrowers can only avail of the LRP once.
    They cannot participate in any future SSS condonation or restructuring programs to instill credit discipline.
      Members can file their LRP application at any SSS branch and monitor their loan statement of account at the SSS website.

    Pay PAG-IBIG Housing Loan Via Metrobankdirect

    A few days back, I went to PAG-IBIG Ayala Cebu Branch to submit the receipt of my realty tax payment for the years 2017 and 2018. While one can actually send the scanned receipt online, I opted to submit mine in person. Good thing I did so because then I learned about the following announcement: Apparently, effective July 2018, all housing loan borrowers are advised to pay their housing loans through different payment channels (as indicated in the announcement). Rather than wait for the July 1 start date, I thought I'd give paying via Metrobankdirect--Metrobank's online channel--a try. Actually, the reason I opened a Metrobank account was primarily for this purpose. However, I didn't use the account as I initially intended because paying over the counter gives my mother a chance to drop by Ayala Center. She normally does not go to the mall, but paying my HDMF housing loan gives her a reason to do so. But with this new policy, I guess I have no other choice but to comply

    5 Steps to Enroll Your Metrobank Account Online

    Below is a quick run-through of how to enroll your Metrobank account online: The steps enumerated are from the perspective of those who have a Metrobank ATM savings account. Thus, the form in step no. 3 asks for details of your ATM Card number ( not your bank account ) and your PIN number---the same PIN number you key in when transacting with an ATM machine. Note that your ATM card only has sixteen (16) digits. The form will require you to input 19 digits. Thus, don't forget to add three zeroes after the card number to complete the 19-digit requirement. If you don't have an ATM account, but have a Metrobank credit card instead, you simply select Credit Card from the drop-down menu. The form that you will fill out then will include your credit card number, the embossed name (the one shown on your credit card), the CVC/CVV number (the 3-digit number at the back of your card), and the expiry date.
